Implanon Insertion

Many of our Doctors are comfortable inserting and removing Implanon contraceptives. Generally an appointment is necessary prior to insertion of an Implanon for discussion of suitability, pre & post insertion care. You will also require a script to buy your Implanon from the chemist. Insertion of an Implanon is best at certain times in your menstrual cycle. As such insertion is planned for a subsequent day and may not be possible at your first appointment, but we will endeavour to consider your convenience.

Referrals welcome from other GP practices. Patients will be respectfully returned to the care of their regular GP following insertion & check up 6 weeks post insertion.

As these procedure take time & involve setting up, it would be helpful to let the receptionist know at time of booking that your appointment is for “Implanon insertion”
